Whelen All American Series has been significantly changed from the Dodge Weekly series. This sanction will be good for both the drivers and the Speedway. NASCAR membership is optional for all drivers and crew. For teams that race in the weekly divisions there is financial benefit to joining. See presentation slides. Assuming that the weather co-operates the Speedway will schedule at least the minimum number of races required to qualify for year end points. Will schedule double points races to help with the number of races. Weekly Purse: Purse is 5-10% less for non members. Special APC Late Models year end purse of $11,000 will be paid to top 20 in points in the JBM Triple Crown Series. Jeff indicated total available money and awards is estimated to be a half-million dollars. Post Meeting Note: These estimates are based on car counts of 28 cars per race. See presentation for other details.
Backgate Convenience Pass - will be available for $320 plus tax for back gate entry to all events. Top gate spousal pass available for $250. Sponsor Workshop – Speedway wants to help drivers where we can. Offer extended to put on a Sponsor workshop. Enough interest expressed that we will have one. Date will likely be March 2nd or 3rd. Increasing sponsor value: Speedway will make tickets available to your sponsors on a night when you race. Will need contact info for Speedway follow-up. Speedway is not after your sponsors, we want to make sure we give them value for their sponsorship.
Need to reenergize Enduro for both drivers and fans. Want input tonight on the proposed format changes. Thanks to Pete for his comments on the proposed changes. See presentation for details of Enduro format changes and V-8 Challenge race. Speedway will call another meeting for the Enduro drivers to go over the final format and pay outs.
