Are you ready for the Ultimate Sandblasting & Coating Chaos Cars?
The Delaware Speedway Ultimate Sandblasting & Coating Chaos Car division is designed to be a safety conscious, low-cost, fun-level class. Events that Chaos cars compete in will be varied and will include fun-type novelty events and are centred on having fun in a controlled, low-cost environment!
Frequently Asked Questions:
How do you build one of these?
Take a look at some of the build videos and see for yourself. A mini-series was prepared when the series was launched to help prospective competitors see how it’s done!
How much does a vehicle cost?
The cheapest car in the Chaos Cars is valued at approximately $500. The most expensive car is valued at just over $2,000. How cost-effective your build will be will depend on what shape your car is in (ie. if the brake lines are gone, they cost money to replace), how much spare equipment you have, and how good your fabrication skills are. As the division matures, used cars are beginning to become available.
How many Chaos Cars are there?
Fourteen different Chaos Cars competed in the first season of the division. None of these cars were damaged beyond repair during competition. Rarely do all the cars show up at the same time, except for special events.
Do Chaos Cars get paid?
The chaos cars do have a payout system (outlined below) which was introduced at the end of 2009! Each Chaos Car is on a membership program. For $25 at the start of the year, the driver, car, and one crew member are allowed into each chaos event free of charge.

Are there plans to convert the Chaos Cars to a full four cylinder race class?
No. There are no plans to convert the chaos cars to a full-speedway racing division. The division is an entry-level obstacle based class. The obstacles have proven to be very popular with drivers and fans alike, and also control the speed of the cars around the speedway. The class is all about having fun and putting on a show for the fans!
Why would someone get involved with this series?
If you like thrills, meeting new people, driving cars, and generally having a great time in a safety-conscious, low-cost environment, the Chaos Cars are for you! Head down to the infield after the events and talk to a Chaos driver to learn how and why they got involved.
