APC Sponsors Delaware Speedway Summer Showdown
Parent Company CANUSA Expands Racing Profile for 2010
Delaware Speedway is proud to welcome Auto Parts Centres as title sponsor of the first annual Summer Showdown, July 7th, featuring NASCAR stars Kyle Busch, David Reutimann and Regan Smith, taking on local and regional racers on the 1/2 mile oval.
Luke Ramsay is Sales and Marketing Manager for APC's distribution centre, CANUSA Automotive Warehousing in Dorchester. He has been a longtime supporter of Delaware and says this new event is a perfect fit for his brands.
"We feel that the Summer Showdown gives us a unique opportunity to promote our APC brand as well as share the experience with all of our customers. We are very proud to have David Reutimann driving The Total Lubricants, APC Late Model and we're also very thankful of Delaware Speedway for providing this opportunity."
Ramsay has lots of experience with bringing race fans old and new to Delaware Speedway. He says it's always a good time.
"Delaware Speedway provides a great atmosphere for entertaining guests and to build and improve our relationships with our customers. The majority of our customer base is somehow involved or knows somebody in the racing community, so we feel that it's important that we support local tracks when possible."
CANUSA is dipping a toe into NCATS (NASCAR Canadian Tire Series) sponsorship this season by partnering its Motorsports division with Ron Sheridan's RKR Motorsports for three races. The team will make its first appearance of the season on June 5th at Delaware. Ramsay calls it a great start.
"We have talked for a while about getting involved with NCATS. The problem has always been that it requires a large commitment to get started. Ron came to us with the option to test the water without jumping right in. We are excited to see what kind of response we get from this years involvement and we will then make future plans from there. Ron has already proving that his RKR team is a great group of people to team up with."
Luke is also hands-on with his cousin Jamie Ramsay's racing team. For the 2009 season Jamie Ramsay finished 8th overall in the APC Late Model Division at Delaware. Luke predicts a good year for his cousin in 2010.
"We have made some changes to the car for this year and we are very optimistic about the upcoming season. This will be the second year for Jamie to be working with crew chief Artie Gemmell and both are looking for some better results."
