ONLINE TICKET SYSTEM TAKES GREEN FLAG
Delaware Speedway PR May 28, 2009
(DELAWARE, ONTARIO) Delaware Speedway’s new online ticket system officially launched on the track’s website on Wednesday evening. The new system, a first for the speedway, is the most powerful motorsports ticketing system in Canada. The new system allows fans to purchase and print tickets directly from the website 24/7 for weekly and special events.
“We are very excited about the level of convenience this system offers our customers,” said speedway Public Relations director John Houghton. “The new system brings our ticketing system into line with our goal of being the finest speedway in Canada by providing a new level of convenience to our guest experience.”
Canadian customers have become more and more accustomed to online “E-Ticketing” in recent years. The technology allows fans to purchase and then print on their home computer bar-coded tickets. The barcodes on the tickets are one of a kind and are void after they are used. The technology has been used successfully at many modern sporting venues and movie theatres.
The technical backbone of the system is provided by Vendini, a company that provides ticketing solutions for venues in the United States and Canada. The company was selected by Delaware Speedway for its software’s ease of use, professional staff, and strong reputation. The track would like to extend its gratitude to the staff at Vendini for their assistance in the launch of the system.
Beyond the convenience offered by online ticketing, fans also stand to save money with the new system. For special events, tickets are available at a discounted advanced price when compared to the regular gate price.
“Fans that buy early will have the opportunity to save quite a bit off the regular gate price,” said Houghton. “We are certain that fans will be very happy with the advanced prices.”
The system also allows for convenient online booking in the speedway’s popular reserved seating section. The seats were previously only available the night of the event, or by calling the speedway and making a booking.
NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly events and Transmission Direct Enduro events will be added to the system in the coming weeks at the conclusion of the Auto Value Super Sprint and NASCAR Canadian Tire Series weekend of June 5 & 6. Tickets and weekend passes for those are available through the track website.
Delaware Speedway is a half-mile paved oval stock-car track, located just west of London, Ontario, Canada. For more than 55 years, Delaware Speedway has been the home to some of the finest stock car racing in Canada. Its unique natural amphitheatre-like setting allows a family or group of friends to enjoy an exciting, comfortable and affordable night of entertainment.
