Tire Rule Update
March 30, 2009
Delaware Speedway Race Program
Attention competitors, please make note of the following with regards to the updated 2009 Tire Rules.
Late Models & Modifieds
- 2009 there will be a change to the Delaware Speedway tire rule.
- The Tire remains the Hoosier 980, available through McColl Racing Enterprises.
- Late Models at the start of the year are allowed a 8 tire inventory, modifieds are allowed a 6 tire inventory. Late Model and Mod Teams will be allowed one tire per weekly event, 50-laps or less, special events to be announced.
- Teams will not be limited to the amount of tires they purchase, but are limited to the number they can use.
- If a team runs multiple cars, series, or race tracks, they will be allowed to purchase tires in bulk and match them up in their sets. Tires will be entered into each team’s inventory at the track before each feature event.
- Before each feature, it is the responsibility of the crew chief / tire expert to pick up their purchased tire inventory from the tech garage and write down the four tires that will be used for the feature event (new or scuff). These tires will be entered into the respective team’s inventory by tech.
- The tires that are registered to be used will be inspected after the feature to verify that they were entered into the inventory.
- There will be information available at the two practice days if there are any questions, or you can call the race director at (519) 652-5068 Ext 202
Trucks & Super Stocks
- Tires are purchased from McColl Racing Enterprises, and inventories will remain monitored until implementation of a further rule.
