CONGRATULATIONS J.R. FITZPATRICK
Krown Junior Racing League Graduate Makes Speedway Proud at Daytona

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Delaware Speedway would like to extend congratulations to Krown Junior Racing League graduate and part-time Peterbilt of Ontario Super Stock competitor J.R. Fitzpatrick of Cambridge, Ontario for his spectacular showing and finish Friday evening at Daytona International Speedway.

On route to an amazing fourth place finish, Fitzpatrick led seventeen laps in the NextEra Energy Resources 250 Camping World Truck Series race.  In the event Fitzpatrick was stacked up against some of the biggest names in NASCAR.  Fitzpatrick was driving the #7 Mammoet Chevy for TRG Motorsports.

Fitzpatrick is a graduate of Delaware Speedway’s Krown Body Maintenance Junior Racing League (formally the CASCAR Junior program).  Fitzpatrick competed in the program from its inception in 1997 until graduating in 2001.  The Krown Body Maintenance Junior Racing League is the track’s signature educational racing program for drivers aged 8-17 years old.

Fitzpatrick would move on to be the “final” champion of the CASCAR Super Series in 2006.  At age 17 his victory made him the youngest driver ever to win the CASCAR Championship.  The series was later renamed the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.

In recent years, J.R. Fitzpatrick has run a handful of races at Delaware Speedway in the Peterbilt of Ontario Super Stock Class.  In his most recent showing Fitzpatrick competed in his spectacularly prepared yellow #84 Camaro.

Another Delaware Speedway driver for fans to cheer for is set to hit the high banks of Daytona in Saturday’s Camping World 300 Nationwide Series race.  D.J. Kennington of St. Thomas, Ontario has qualified 16th for the event in his #81 Griffin Companies dodge.  Race fans in this region can catch the action on TSN at 12:00 PM.
