It’s the announcement Throne Kings of the Hill race fans and competitors have been waiting for!

The Throne Kings of the Hill Nationals, which takes place the Friday of the Great Canadian Race Weekend will officially have a $1,000 prize up for grabs.  The event puts street-legal, street-driven vehicles and their drivers to the ultimate test in fun one-on-one single-lap drag races around the speedway.

“We’re very happy to be offering this prize money for this exciting event,” said Announcer John Houghton.  “In the past, prize money at Throne Kings of the Hill events has attracted some of the top drivers from across the province.  It will be fun to see who shows up to try to pick up this excellent prize.”

The Throne Kings of the Hill Spectator’s races are aimed at keeping racing on the track and off the streets with the simple motto ‘the track is for racing, the streets are for transportation’.

“It’s hoped that these races can provide a positive alternative and allow people to enjoy racing in a controlled environment,” said John Houghton.  “There is no comparison to the excitement and energy that comes from competing in front of thousands of fans.”

The program also raises money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

“Last year we raised about $10,000 for the Make-a-Wish charity over the course of the season,” said Kevin Overholt of Throne Kings.  “We’re very grateful to the fans and drivers for all their support and hope everyone will continue to come out and have some fun, cheer on their favorite and support this very special program.”

The Throne Kings of the Hill Nationals takes place on the opening night of the Great Canadian Race Weekend (Friday, August 29-31).  For more information contact the Delaware Speedway office.
