Stephen Richmond (#24) of Appin won his second career feature race Friday evening at Delaware Speedway on Auto Trim Design Night featuring the Auto Value Super Sprints.  The victory was a hard fought one which saw Richmond and Dan Bugg (#71) of London go side-by-side for much of the race for the lead.  At one points, Jeremiah Rabideau (#51) of Glencoe mounted a challenge on the inside to go three wide but backed out, giving Richmond and Bugg room to race.  Richmond was finally able to complete an outside pass to solidly take the lead.  Darrell Lake (#77) of London finished second, and third was Jeremiah Rabideau (#51) of Glencoe.  Richmond’s win is a special one for his team, as his #24 suffered extreme damage on practice day after his throttle stuck heading into turn three.  The crash required the front of Richmond’s car to be completely rebuilt.

In the POWERADE Open Wheel Modifieds Paul Shipway (#88) of Ailsa Craig went to victory lane.  Darrell Limon (#54) of Watford was second, with Jamie Cox (#3) of Dorchester in third.  The event saw a last lap crash between Mark Watson (#20) of St. Thomas, and Barry Newman (#1) of Springfield.  The pair had been running competitively side by side for a number of laps before the incident meters away from the start finish line.

Jason Blonde (#42) won the AutoValue Bumper to Bumper Super Sprint race.  Ryan Litt (#07) of Lyons, Ontario managed to get out front in the event but with five laps to go suffered a mechanical failure.  The troubled stemmed from an early race incident with another car.  With Litt eliminated Blonde was able to move on to take the win.  Second was local driver Mike Ling in the #55 car, and third was car #70.  For more information on the AVSS event check www.supersprints.com.

Next weekend Delaware Speedway will host two great days of racing!  Friday, June 13 is the special Features Only night that will see all the weekly classes competing as well as a Throne Kings of the Hill Spectators Race.  Gates open at 6:00, racing starts at 8:00 PM.  Saturday will host the ultimate test of racing skill and ability, the Transmission Direct Enduro 250.  Along with the Transmission Direct Enduro competing will be the Ultimate Sandblasting & Coating Chaos Cars and Four Cylinder Invitational.  The event is the first night race for the Transmission Direct Enduro in 2008 with gates opening at 6:00 PM with the green flag at 7:00 PM.
